EVENT INFORMATION:Get help at HCCI’s Women & Money Series of seven classes developed by women for women of all ages, education and income levels. Surveys show 70% of women are the sole decision makers about their family’s finances. HCCI Counselors and other expert speakers will present the first four sessions about budgeting, banking and credit building that include discussion groups led by trained facilitators. The last three classes about investments, retirement planning, and wills are presented by attorneys and other staff from the Kansas Securities Commissioner’s Office and other speakers with expertise about Social Security, law, retirement planning, and investing. Enrollment is open to women as young as 18 and as old as they wish to admit. Enrollment fees on an “honor system” are $45 or $25 for women experiencing financial hardship. Women may choose to attend any or all of the seven sessions. All women enrolled will receive books and handouts valued at $65. A special “Mother/Daughter Deal” is $70. A special “Friends Deal” enrolls three at $45 and one friend free. No one will be turned away if they are unable to pay the suggested enrollment fee to cover a portion of the costs of workbooks.
